Tasting Ledaig 6 years old Single Malts of Scotland

By Miguel in Tasting , Tobermory

“Massive sherry character for a six years old Tobermory. Beware of the peat”

Ledaig (Tobermory) 2005 / 6 Year Old / Sherry Butt Island Whisky
Ledaig is the peated spirit made at Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. This feisty young cask strength whippersnapper shows plenty of muscle and exhibits flavours of bonfires, honey and fruit cake thanks to maturation in a sherry cask. A massive hit at 2012's TWE Whisky Show.

This dram has a cooper-like color.

Nose (88): strong. honey, peat, fruity, leather, nuts.

Palate (89): powerful, oily. peat, honey, citrus.

Finish (89): longer than average. peat, citrus.

So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Ledaig (Tobermory) 2005 / 6 Year Old / Sherry Butt Island Whisky with 89 points over 100.
