Piece Of Islay: The new Bowmore Duty-Free Single Malts
in BowmoreYesterday Bowmore did a twitter tasting introducing their new (to me) Duty Free bottles: Black Rock, White Sands and Gold Reef.
Ally Dickinson manned the twitter tasting with many fellow bloggers. One really interesting experience of this tasting was that it was paired with chocolate: little cocoa with crushed coffee beans and toffee filled chocolates.
Well, let’s taste them.

“Nice Bowmore with a touch of sherry that doesn't dominate a fantastic ex-bourbon-like Bowmore. Quite interesting”
Miguel says…
A fantastic experience. The whiskies are all of them without age statements, much like most new releases nowadays, but at least they are pretty nice. None of them really stands over the others, but if you force me to choose one I would get the White Sands. The sherried one, Black Rock, is quite lightly sherried nothing to do with a peated sherry monster. A good thing for me.
