FT: Talisker & Four want-to-be Single Malts
in Tasting , Cardhu , TaliskerMuahahahah! Talisker and four jokes, I mean whiskies… This tasting doesn’t look interesting at all. In fact the best thing that Diageo could have done with Cardhu would have been close it after all the Pure Malt issue… at least their stock would be more valuable now. And nobody drinking Johnnie Walker would notice the change anyway…
Another post for the Fucking thief. Stealing other persons’ whisky so you can know about it. Is this your photo? Write me to fthief@awardrobeofwhisky.com and I will pay you… homage… and share with A Wardrobe of Whisky’s readers your experience on the tasting. Slainte!
This one looks like take from a whisky show or something like that… anyway… who cares? Let’s taste them.
Talisker 10 years old
The only real whisky of the five shown above. Peppery, powerful and with a note of peat. Not my favorite Talisker but so over Cardhu…
“Deliciously peated complexity with more than a serving of the sweetest honey. Lovely Talisker”
This dram has a amber-like color.
Nose (90): more than average. peat, honey, citrus, vanilla, cinnamon, wood. Deliciously complex.
Palate (91): powerful, oily. peat, wood, floral, citrus, spices, wood, cinnamon.
Finish (90): longer than average. peat, floral, wood, spices.
So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Talisker 10 year with 90 points over 100.Buy this bottle at

Cardhu 12 years old
SWA should have been brave and ban this fucking whisky. It is really an insult to Single Malt whiskies and in my country people pay for it as much as a Macallan ( oh! wait… ). Seriously… don’t buy this.
This dram has a white-like color.
Nose (76): inexistent. sweet, honey, toffee, tropical fruits, oranges. First nosing data is innacurate as the previous tasting sheet lacked of this field.
Palate (80): . sweet, vanilla, some wood, a little honey, fruity and anises. Bouquet data is innacurate as the previous tasting sheet lacked of this field.
Finish (76): no finish. spicy, vanilla, a bit wood and fruity: orange and pears. Finish length is innacurate as the previous tasting sheet lacked of this field.

Again, for the money I can get a good whisky and a dinner for two, but at least it is a decent Cardhu, maybe the best of the range I have tasted.

Miguel says…
Go for the Talisker
The rest is there to make you uncomfortable and don’t spend much time on the stand. I see some chicks at the other side. Whatever they are drinking would be better than Cardhu… even vodka!
