Amazing Glendronach 21 years old Parliament

By Miguel in Tasting , Glendronach

“Nice overwhelming Oloroso whisky. The first sherry monster I am really scared of”

89
Glendronach 21 year Parliament
The Glendronach “Parliament” both complements Glendronach core range and continues the great GlenDronach tradition of offering fruit-laden intensity in its single malts.

This Speyside whisky matured in a combination of the finest Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.

This is a stunning single malt whisky from this Speyside distillery with a massive sherry flavor. Only for sherry-heads.

This dram has a old oak-like color.

Nose (89): more than average. floral, citrus, nuts, leather, wood.

Palate (89): smooth, powerful, oily. leather, floral, nuts, wood, dates, cocoa, rubber. Oloroso madness!

Finish (88): long. Leather, wood, raisins, floral.

So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Glendronach 21 year Parliament with 89 points over 100.

Glendronach 18 years old Allardice Tasting note

By Miguel in Tasting , Glendronach

“Awesome whisky with an outstanding finish.”

91
Glendronach 18 year
The third expression of the new Benriach-owned era of GlenDronach Distillery and its a 100% oloroso sherry matured beast of a dram. GlenDronach ‘Allardice’ 18 year old was named after James Allardice, the "exuberant and extroverted" man who founded the distillery in 1826.

This dram has a tawny-like color.

Nose (90): more than average. sweet, floral, wood, vanilla, a bit nuts, candies. Really good, delicate. It is really different from the sherry monster than 15 years old.

Palate (91): smooth, oily, powerful. sweet, peaches, wood, nuts, vanilla, grass, citrus.

Finish (92): very long. some nuts, vanilla. Very nutty finish.

So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Glendronach 18 year with 91 points over 100.

“Sherried and sulphured... not idea what this can be but definitively it is not a Karuizawa... isn't it, right?”

88
Glendronach 15 year Revival
Glendronach Revival is the culmination of nearly a year's hard work by the distillery's new owners, who have done such a marvellous job at Benriach.

This Oloroso-matured Revival single malt whisky has already received a whopping 92 points from the highly-esteemed Serge Valentin at Whiskyfun, who compared it to Macallan Gran Reserva!

One of the best sherried whiskies I have had the pleasure of drinking. Run! Buy one!

Glendronach 12 years old Tasting note

By Miguel in Tasting , Recommended , Glendronach

“Rather good dram with lots of interesting sherry notes. Fruity.”

90
Glendronach 12 year
Glendronach is a very welcomed back distillery of the Speyside, that after a few years mothballed has returned with a range of incredible sherried whiskies.

This 12 years old single malt is a dense, heavily-sherried dram from a distillery now producing again after a six-year layoff. A malt best suited to after-dinner sipping

Very recommended, and if you enjoyed this one, you need to try the 15 years Revival. Simply mindblowing!

This dram has a cooper-like color.

Nose (91): strong. sweet, wood, vanilla, tobacco, spices, a little citrus, floral, fresh.

Palate (91): smooth, oily. sweet, barley, spices, wood, vanilla, peach, grass, nuts.

Finish (87): longer than average. sweet, wood, vanilla, spices.

So based on other whiskies I have already tasted I rate this Glendronach 12 year with 90 points over 100.
