Laphroaig Select is aged in a combination of Oloroso sherry butts, American white oak (we suspect some of this is virgin oak), hogsheads seasoned with Pedro Ximenez, quarter casks and first fill bourbon casks. This results in a restrained and toned down version of this Islay classic.

“Smells as a Laphroaig but once it sits on the glass for a few sips it becomes too light for me. There is a great Laphroaig inside this whisky... for those of you that enjoy light experiences”

This dram has a gold-like color.
Nose (86): more than average. honey, salt, peat, iodine, seaweed, vanilla.

Taste (87): light, oily. honey, peat, citrus, salt, vanilla, peat.
