The Glengyle distillery, which produces Kilkerran, only started production in 2004. This particular whisky is part of an ongoing project in which they use a solera system to mature the whisky. The Solera cask is only filled with whisky that was distilled in 2004 and bottled exclusively for visitors to"The Tasting Room" (a special Tour offered by Springbank/Glengyle).
